The University needs to make its investment process inclusive and transparentCurrently, the University's endowment is controlled by a private foundation called the University System of Maryland Foundation (USMF), shielding it from any public accountability. We call on the University of Maryland to make its investment process transparent and give students and faculty a voice in decision making.

The University needs to divest from companies that profit off of human rights violationsThe University has its endowment invested in an array of different companies, and some of these companies are widely unethical, such as weapons manufactures, surveillance equipment suppliers, and private prisons. As students, we deserve an education that is not funded with dirty money and to attend a university that is not profiting off of human rights abuses.

BoycottBoycotts involve withdrawing support for Israel and Israeli international companies that are involved in the violation of Palestinian human rights, as well as complicit Israeli sporting, cultural and academic institutions.

DivestmentDivestment campaigns urge banks, local councils, churches, pension funds and universities to withdraw investments from all Israeli companies and from international companies involved in violating Palestinian rights.

SanctionSanctions campaigns pressure governments to fulfill their legal obligation to hold Israel to account including by ending military trade, free-trade agreements and expelling Israel from international forums such as the UN and FIFA.
